Labor Day weekend of 2010 saw the induction of the North Coast Music Festival, a new event put on by fifty different promoters for hipsters, hippies and hip hop heads of the Chicago area. Independently produced, this festival takes place in Union Park and features eclectic lineup of local and international talent including jam bands, bass music, hip hop and straight-up rock and roll.
